Dear Fellow Eyebrow Loss Sufferer,

Here is why: My name is Jason Berndt and over a decade ago, I lost all of my hair, including eyebrows, eyelashes, head and body hair. Over a short six-month period between the winter of 2009 and summer 2010, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, Alopecia Universalis, which is correlated with high levels of stress.

After my first year of rigorous military training coupled with an Aerospace Engineering degree at the Royal Military College of Canada, all of my hair, including my eyebrows and eyelashes, fell out in clumps.

After losing all of my hair, and having no eyebrows left, I could hardly recognize myself in photos or in the mirror...

I remember when I first lost my eyebrows, I would lay awake at night, staring at the ceiling in my college dorm bed and wondering what the future would hold for me in terms of relationships, social situations...

My confidence was plummeting to an all-time low.

I could barely stand looking at myself for years, and I always felt self-conscious, embarrassed and depressed about the way I looked. And I knew that everyone else was looking at me like an outsider...

Needless to say, I certainly stopped posting new photos of myself on Facebook…

It’s one thing to be bald – it’s another thing to have no eyebrows.

As I’m sure you’ve come to notice, and probably your peers have let you know as well (or they just joked about behind your back) something looks very different about someone with no eyebrows.

In the past decade, people in my peer group have made all kinds of jokes, saying I looked like Gollum from Lord of the Rings, an alien, or a dozen other things they thought were funny. And I certainly didn’t find it entertaining having to live day-to-day with that as an identity.

Over the next decade, I continued with this dreadful situation, training to fly and operationally flying CF-18 fighter jets in the Canadian Air Force, with no improvement in my eyebrows. Briefly, my hair partially grew back, and then fell out as quickly as it came.

As I searched over the past 10 years for solutions which specifically addressed my eyebrow hair loss, it became disappointingly clear that very few existed.

It seemed like time after time, I would go into big-box cosmetic department stores, and ask associates what my options were to provide realistic looking, albeit fake eyebrows. It felt like an odd question to ask, and for some reason I felt really embarrassed and ashamed when I was speaking with them.

Now, I bet you can imagine, or have experienced it yourself: there were a lot of blank looks. Some associates would even have to ask their managers what they could do to help me.

However, it was always no luck, or maybe they would suggest trying an eyebrow pencil. Thanks, but it's kind of difficult and time-consuming to apply realistic looking eyebrows daily with a pencil! And what about when I sweat at the gym or go swimming?

I actually did briefly (for about a year) try the pencil route – and as I predicted, they always looked drawn-on and fake.

Even worse, these drawn-on eyebrows would smear off even if I started to sweat the smallest bit – forget even considering hitting the beach, pool, or hot tub! Then, of course, they would come off at the end of the day in the shower, and I would have to re-apply them another 2 or 3 times the next day. What a waste of time. I experimented with glue and tape-on "eyebrow-wigs" as well. And I have to say – no dice!

The eyebrow-wigs I wore were always far too intense, bushy-looking and would fall off at the worst or most embarrassing of times.

In-fact, an eyebrow wig once fell off of my face and blocked my vision while I was executing high G-force maneuvers while piloting a fighter jet. Seriously!

And I don’t even want to think about how many eyebrow wigs I’ve lost in public hot tubs, only to realize once I got back to the change-room that I had been missing an eyebrow the entire time I was chatting with quasi strangers and they said nothing. Talk about embarrassing!

In living this immeasurable difficulty first-hand that people with no eyebrows face, I felt a need to find an eyebrow solution. The eyebrow solution had 4 hard requirements.

It had to look extremely realistic, so that no one would notice it's fake
It had to be easy and quick to apply
It had to be waterproof so I could exercise, swim, and shower and not lose my eyebrows
It had to last at least a few days, so I wouldn't have to spend lots of time always applying new ones.

Everyone thought it was a crazy idea, and that there was no way fake eyebrows with all of the above requirements, especially being waterproof, could exist...an old friend even called me a “dreamer”.

But I didn’t listen to them, because I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. After a lot of late nights using my aerospace engineering degree, early mornings and a tonne of trial and error, I finally discovered how to make a shockingly realistic set of eyebrows which last for days, are easy to apply, and waterproof.

And everything changed. These eyebrows made my confidence skyrocket. I no longer looked like "Gollum" or "an alien" as people said. I just looked like a normal bald dude.

My take on My 2 Brows

I love them! They are a great alternative to "a permanent tatoo." They were delivered very quickly, with detailed instructions. I had questions, and this company responded the same day, & quickly, every other time I needed assistance.
It did take me 'several' attempts to get the brows placed "just right." (This is where a brick & mortar store might be handy, but then the cost would be much higher. I've been able to get 3-4 days of wear at times. It's definitely worth trying a few different sizes, colors, & shapes until you find a set you like. A great bonus, M2B included sample sets in my 1st 2 orders. I have changed how I wash my face, as the brows can be affected by washing, moisturizers, & water. I use rubbing alcohol to rid the brow area after washing & moisturizers. I use water to remove the alcohol, pat dry, and pat dry once brows are set. I do use the brow powder from M2B to set, & after every washing. Be sure to not use oils, soaps or other products that might degrade the brows. [Again, it takes a few attempts that works for you.]
I wear little to no make up most days, but having "eye brows" I feel, & look complete, and receive compliments on my "happy" face!
If you are needle, or tattoo averse as I am, these temporary tattoos are perfect. At least try them!

Very convenient tattoos

After struggling with eyebrow pencils and pens, these tattoos are, you can almost say, life-changing.
They can last up to 4 days on, as long as I am careful when taking a shower and sleep on my back.

I had microblading twice, but I could not bring myself to go through that pain a third time… especially because they did not do a good job.
I have not mastered the applying of these tattoos exactly on the faded microblading, yet, but with patience and practice, I will.
For reference: I am 5 Ft, 92 lbs, salt and pepper hair, and skin color that has been tanned in the sun.
I bought the Sassy Swerve Small Natural Black. They fit my microblading just fine. I think they might be a little too black for me. I will get them in Dark Brown next time to compare.

The only complaint is the removal. You have to scrub and scrub, but I do it gently to not hurt my skin. It takes me several minutes.
I use a blend of coconut, jojoba, sweet almond, and castor oils.
Overall, I am happy with my perfectly made eyebrows.

These eyebrows look so real. My family and friends can’t get over how real they look on me. They are easy to put on but I do recommend getting some type of tool off Amazon to help you line them up correctly. I’ve been doing it without it, but I know it would be easier with one. I have very smooth skin and live in an area with high humidity so I feel like they come off a bit easier on me, so for that reason I recommend having an eyebrow pencil on hand to fill in any areas that rub off. Mine last for about three days.

Be patient with the process!

I’m learning the brows and they’re working well as I get better at application. Here’s a few pointers:
1. Take advantage of the sample pack. I wished I had done that initially.
2. I do have to do a new set on the third day.
3. Make sure all of your hair is pulled back before applying brows. If you trap a random strand of hair under the brow and then pull it out, you will pull off a line of the tattoo.
4. Rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball will take off the brows when it’s time to switch them out.
5. Just went on a trip and had to fly so couldn’t take scissors with me. So, I precut 2 sets, leaving the plastic layer on, and took a couple of packs of sanitizing wipes. Worked perfect!!
6. Customer service is wonderful. These people really care about this product working.

I am beyond happy with my new 'My two brows". When I used to only pencil on my brows, they would look realistic only occasionally, never when I really needed the , if you have been there you understand.

I found My two brows out of shear desperation and determination.
I got the sample pack and tried every style, shape and most shades. It can be a little challenging to get the right spot to place your brows . I found watching Jason's very helpful. I took an evening when I had time and patience and tried on the different pairs. I took my phone and took a selfie of my eyebrows only and reviewed if they looked natural then took note for the next pair. I can now apply the brows and be ready to go in a fraction of the time and the stress is gone

Don't give up, it is like driving a car or riding a bike, takes a few goes and time to get it right, but we'll worth the perseverance.

Temporary eyebrows

I have very sparse eyebrows and have used an eyebrow pencil for several years. It is always the part of applying make up that took the longest and often through the day they would be smudged or partly non-existent. I found My Two Brows basically by accident. I read and read the application process and the reviews til I almost talked myself out of ordering them. I was amazed at how natural they look. The application process is simple and they stay on for up to 3 days and still look good. I even had them on when I had knee replacement surgery,(you're not supposed to wear make up into surgery) and was pleasantly surprised when I woke up and they were still in place. There are several styles of brows to choose from and you receive enough that even if you mess up a couple of times you still have enough to do til your next order. Did I mention they are water proof? I hope I never have to be without My Two Brows. Thanks for an amazing and quality product!
